Organizers
In 2018 the Day of Transport Culture was organized for the 4th time on and around the 11th of May by the Hungarian Society for Transport Sciences (KTE), the Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers and KTI Institute for Transport Sciences, under the auspices of the Ministry of National Development, with 58 partner organizations holding substantial experience and committed to road safety.

KTI Institute for Transport Sciences
Maintaining and improving road safety is one of the basic goals of the Hungarian transport policy. The Road Safety Action Program has set forth coordinated measures in all areas of the road safety activities.
KTI played a decisive role in designing these measures, and has continuously taken part in realizing these objectives with its set of tools. The Road Safety Research Centre of KTI carries out research & development, assessment & analysis, and preparatory legislation activities as well as tasks related to international obligations, as part of the responsibilities of the transport administration. On the other hand the Centre considers the continuous development of the traffic education system a responsibility of its own; for this reason it plays an active role in traffic education by coordinating the "Élet Úton" (Life Journey) Program, by organizing road safety awareness raising events, and also by creating methodology materials as well as carrying out kindergarten and school programs.
The Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers
The Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers (including the Transport Division of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers) considers the development of a transport system as safe and cultured as possible in Hungary an essential goal. In order to facilitate this the Chamber has decided to join the state administration responsible for transport policy in its efforts to continuously decrease the number of road casualties and to identify tools that may result in the significant and constant improvement of road user safety in the future. In support of this important cause and with the assistance of the Ministry of National Development, the Chamber announced two road safety idea competitions in 2013 and 2014 respectively. In order to support the improvement of road safety, the Chamber also organizes regular relevant conferences, and furthermore provides trainings for road safety auditors, and administers their registry.
Hungarian Society for Transport Sciences (KTE)
KTE, established in 1949, functions as one of the largest non-governmental organization for engineers with its 4000 personal and 120 legal members, aiming at improving transport. KTE's objectives are to cultivate the transport sciences both in theory and practice, and to facilitate their development; to provide a framework for professional and civilian cooperation among the theoretical and practical experts of the field; to publish and promote the results of transport science; to strengthen the position of the Hungarian transport science in the international cooperation; and to improve transport safety as well as develop the transport culture.
The society runs 18 regional offices and 9 divisions. It supports the integration of engineer students and young experts into the professional public life. It takes part in developing the cultured and safe transport of society. KTE is the establisher and publisher of the only professionally peer-reviewed Hungarian transport press medium, the Transport Science Review.
